Midwestern newspaper buries Justice John Roberts for whining about trust in the court collapsing

Last week, Chief Justice John Roberts lamented that there's "no basis" for those who are complaining about the legitimacy of Supreme Court justices. Americans have taken issue with the Supreme Court after Republicans spent nearly a year blocking the appointment of a justice after the death of the late Justice Antonin Scalia. It led to Trump being able to appoint three judges in a 4 year term and taking the court from being moderate to swinging to the far right.

Since then, the rulings have infuriated the majority of Americans who don't support the level of extremism coming from the court. It prompted the midwestern newspaper, the St. Louis Post Dispatch to issue an editorial calling out Roberts for being clueless that he's part of the problem.

Florida newspaper disgusted by Republicans refusing to disavow Nazi and white supremacist supporters

It's only been a few weeks since President Joe Biden made a speech calling out violent domestic terrorism from white supremacists, militia groups, neo-Nazis and others that have been embraced under the MAGA banner. Now the Miami Herald is concerned that too many of these groups are within Florida's borders and they're part of Gov. Ron DeSantis' (R-FL) supporters.

In an Editorial Board piece on Thursday, the Herald explained that these "extremists don’t always wear white robes and burn crosses." But they were certainly breaking through the windows of the Capitol on Jan. 6. they were flying swastika flags over interstate overpasses, they harassed those they believed were Jewish and people of color, they staged an event outside of a right-wing conference and held a rally outside of Disney World.

Republicans dismiss Trump's classified docs scandal: 'A lot of people they think break the law they don’t go after'

WASHINGTON — A new court filing by the Justice Department indicated that they and the National Archives believe that there are still documents that Donald Trump hasn't turned over despite the subpoena and search warrant. One of the things the DOJ listed in the papers obtained from Trump was at least 48 folders marked “classified” but which were empty.

One former aide to Trump suggested that Trump could have taken documents to the homes of his children or his country club in New Jersey. In a letter sent last week from the House Oversight Committee, Chairperson Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) asked that the National Archives if they would request a "personal certification" from the former president that he has turned everything over.

Now it's being revealed that there's more information being turned over to the House Select Committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on Congress.

The Secret Service has long said that they were cooperating and they didn't need to be subpoenaed. Robert Engel and Tony Ornato both testified behind closed doors to the committee, but it was before White House aid Cassidy Hutchinson spoke publicly and recalled conversations she'd had with Ornato. It was reported by CNN that Ornato was working for the Secret Service at the time he was working behind the scenes to undermine Hutchinson. He has since "retired."
