Trump-loving pastor swears 'evangelicals are not morons' after Mar-a-Lago religious meeting

Former President Donald Trump hasn't said whether or not he's running for president again in 2024, but he's made it clear that he's going to win back the White House. This week, he held a meeting with religious leaders at Mar-a-Lago, similar to the one he held in June 2016.

A Politico report explained that Trump is staying in contact with the white evangelicals as the election approaches. Former Vice President Mike Pence, a kind of political evangelical darling, will be removed from the Trump ticket. It makes Trump's need to maintain relationships with the white evangelical community more important. But in talking about the meeting that was with the pastors, a senior aide explained, "It’s not something he broadcasts."

Whoopi Goldberg goes off on Lindsey Graham for turning on Judge Jackson: 'You should be ashamed of yourself'

The women of "The View" began the show Wednesday attacking Republicans for their attacks on Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson during the first day of questions during the hearings.

Co-host Whoopi Goldberg began by saying "Lindsey Graham, you should be ashamed of yourself. None of this came up the last three times. The last three times this woman came before you. You were fine with her. Suddenly now you don't know what you are doing. The last time you voted for her, now you're walking. Republicans were this worried about sex crimes and their egregiousness, they didn't want to hear about sex crimes when [Justice Brett] Kavanaugh was being nominated. So, I'm just -- just, and that's all -- and she has not been accused of a sex crime, okay? I'm just saying that."

Thom Tillis channels Glenn Beck with 'Soros conspiracy' style flow-chart attacking dark money groups

Sen Thom Tillis (R-NC) went off on a tangent attacking groups that advocate for liberal judges on the courts while questioning Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson on Wednesday. The same groups also exist on the right, but Tillis only focused on the ones on the other side.

Tillis crafted a flow chart that showed Arabella Advisors at the top. Among the donors giving through Arabella is the Tide Foundation, which has received funding from political activist George Soros, who has become a kind of boogeyman that conservatives use to attack Democrats and progressive causes.

Russia's invasion of Ukraine splits the Republican Party

Conservatives can't quite figure out where they are Russia, alluded the New York Times in a Q&A Wednesday. The early days were dominated by Republicans saying that the U.S. should stay out of the conflict. Some went so far as to say that Russia has every right to reclaim its land, with former President Donald Trump calling Russian President Vladimir Putin a "genius" and "savvy."

That confusion continues as Jane Coaston asked conservatives where they were on the issue. In this case, National Review writer Michael Brendan Dougherty and The Dispatch's David French.

'HE IS WRONG': Legal analysts go off on Ted Cruz for his attacks on Judge Jackson

Legal analysts sounded off on Tuesday after Sen.Ted Cruz (R-TX) questioned Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson at her confirmation hearing. The analysts accused the GOP senator of taking facts out of context and trying to twist them into some nefarious conspiracy.

Cruz began with the "critical race theory" claims, asking if it's taught in schools and if she thinks it's appropriate. Judge Jackson sits on the board of a private school, Georgetown Day School, which is not to be confused with Georgetown Prep where Brett Kavanaugh attended.

Legal expert accuses GOP senator of citing argument against interracial marriage in Judge Jackson hearing

Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) used two main cases from the 1800s to ask about same-sex marriage, which was legalized by the Supreme Court in 2015. But many saw problems with his argument that were characterized as both racist and factually incorrect.

Cornyn, who was once the attorney general of Texas, asked Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson if she would agree that The Dred Scott case and Plessy v. Ferguson "were appropriately overruled by the Supreme Court." Dred Scott was never overturned by the Supreme Court, it was overturned by the 13th Amendment. At the time, March 6, 1857, the Supreme Court ruled that the Constitution didn't give citizenship to those kidnapped in Africa and brought to the United States as slaves.

The View agrees Judge Jackson had remarkable poise facing off against 'trolling' by Lindsey Graham

The co-hosts of "The View" started their show on the heels of Sen. Lindsey Graham's (R-SC) questioning of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson in which he detailed his grievances about the way conservative justices were treated when being appointed previously.

"They talk about the comparisons about how she's being treated as to how [Justice Brett] Kavanaugh and [Justice] Clarence Thomas were treated," said Joy Behar. "She's not been accused of sexual impropriety."

Democratic senator throws treatment of Merrick Garland in the faces of Republicans whining about Kavanaugh

During Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson's confirmation hearing on Tuesday, Sen. Pat Leahy (D-VT) responded to Republicans' complaints about how Brett Kavanaugh was treated during his own confirmation hearing.

"I was going to respond to something the junior senator from Texas said yesterday," said Leahy. "He suggested Democrats exacted a political agenda by opposing the nominations in Judge [Neil] Gorsuch to the Supreme Court. I kind of chuckle at that because along with others, others repeatedly and clearly stated substantive concerns with Justice Gorsuch's nomination."
