The House Select Committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on Congress announced that due to the hurricane in Florida they're putting a hold on Wednesday's hearing. They haven't named when they intend to do the replacement hearing or if there will be an others after that.

Speaking to MSNBC on Tuesday, former Rep. David Jolly (R-FL) said that the most important piece of the Jan. 6 probe is conveying to the American people that it can happen and it might happen again if nothing is done.

The co-hosts of "The View" all agreed that bipartisanship is a positive thing in government, but it isn't the kind that Sens. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) were talking about at the McConnell Center on Monday.

"You know, she's not popular in her own state, 55 percent of women find her unfavorable," said Joy Behar said citing the lack of popularity of Sinema in her own state. Behar is correct about the polling in Arizona, which shows voters have come together — they're just against Sinema. "Men don't like her. Hispanic voters don't like her. Voters 50 and over don't like her. The only person who seems to like her is Mitch McConnell and Mitch McConnell likes her because she works with him to obstruct the Democrats. That's how I see it. She's not going to be popular with the Republicans either. She doesn't have a religion as far as I could tell and she says that she's bisexual, they don't like that. So, I think she's a problem, she doesn't help the Democrats. We need a strong Democrat in Arizona like Mark Kelly."

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough said congressional Republicans had played themselves by refusing to join efforts to investigate the Jan. 6 insurrection.

Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), who serves on the House select committee investigating the attack, recently confronted Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) for spreading debunked conspiracy theories accusing FBI agents of fomenting the riot, and the "Morning Joe" host said that was emblematic of the GOP's response to the insurrection.

Former President Donald Trump gripes through his campaign rallies about gasoline prices and rising crime, but the "Morning Joe" host said those complaints were simply unfounded.

Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) isn't long for the U.S. Senate, if polling back home is any indication and her speech before Mitch McConnell's center of politics didn't make it much better. Claiming to share the same "values" as McConnell, who is anti-choice and anti-equality, Sinema misquoted the Constitution, purporting to be an expert on the 60-vote supermajority that has nearly brought down the ability of the U.S. Senate to function properly.

Speaking about Sinema's speech, MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell unleashed a brutal fact-check on the one-time progressive activist. He began with the quote from Sinema saying, "those of you that are parents in the room know that the best thing that you can do for your child is not give them everything they want. Right?" Sinema doesn't have children, has never been a parent and is divorced.

On Monday, former Donald Trump attorney and fixer Michael Cohen performed a peculiar impression of his onetime boss declassifying top secret documents that were stashed at his Mar-a-Lago country club in Palm Beach, Florida.

"He turns around and he wants to use the Jedi mind trick," said Cohen, putting on an impression of Master Yoda from Star Wars. "Declassify, we do, hrmm?"

The Washington Post reported over the weekend that staff and officials on the House Select Committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on Congress were not happy with former Rep. Denver Riggleman (R-VA), who was working on the committee as a staffer until April 2022.

While officials like Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) and Rep. Zoe Lofgren have indicated that they followed up on everything Riggleman said and that there was not a lot of news in his book, behind the scenes it was another matter. According to former Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO), members are "furious" with Riggleman.

NASA TV is live streaming the latest of the exploration of the asteroid that is flying by the Earth. It's the first test from NASA planning for if there is a "large body" from space headed toward Earth.

The theory is that the rocket, known as the Double Asteroid Redirection Test or, amusingly, DART. Aptly described, the rocket will be sent like a dart toward the target and, ideally will knock the asteroid out of the existing orbit. NASA will then measure the new orbit to see the extent to which it could work for future efforts to keep an asteroid from hitting the Earth.

On Monday's edition of CNN's "The Situation Room," former federal prosecutor Elie Honig responded to CNN's newly-obtained clips from the House January 6 Committee of longtime Donald Trump ally Roger Stone's activity in the months before January 6, likely to be aired at the committee's next hearing on Wednesday.

The new clip, obtained by Danish filmmakers in the weeks before the attack, shows Stone predicting Trump would plot to stay in power in the event of an election loss, and even a moment where he said, “F**k the voting, let’s get right to the violence. Shoot to kill, see an antifa, shoot to kill. F**k ’em. Done with this bullsh*t.” He immediately said he was joking.

Far-right operative Roger Stone will be a piece of the Wednesday public hearing of the House Select Committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on Congress and attempt to overthrow the election.

Stone had a video crew following him around for two years, from 2019 to 2021, and they captured Stone as he was participating in the Jan. 6 activities.

Former Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) said that she is hearing that the members of the House Select Committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on Congress and attempt to overthrow the election have operated without any leaks thus far. That has changed with the announcement of former Rep. Denver Riggleman's (R-VA) book, which will be released on Tuesday.

MSNBC's Nicolle Wallace said on Monday that thus far members haven't shown a lot of frustration when asked about Riggleman. Speaking to NBC News, Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) said that the committee is well aware of the calls that happened between the White House and insurrectionists. Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-CA) told CNN the same thing, noting that the committee has investigated every one of Riggleman's connections detailed in the intelligence he collected.

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough said Republicans are fooling themselves if they believe anti-democratic views will fade away when Donald Trump exits the political scene.

The "Morning Joe" host said his former party had become a "personality cult" around the former president, but he said the forces that Trump unleashed in the GOP had to be defeated -- and he said Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) seemed to be one of the only Republicans who seemed to grasp that.
