Trump's defense is beginning to fall apart: analyst

In a Washington Post analysis, reporter Phil Bump followed one of the ongoing questions about what Donald Trump actually believes and what he's simply saying to make people like him. Trump has spent the past several decades switching key positions on issues from Democratic to Republican to far-right.

The most famous example was his pro-choice stance, which then evolved into putting women in prison for having an abortion. He then had to walk that back. Trump, who has been married three times and had multiple affairs, embraced Christianity once he became a Republican candidate for president. He then spent the campaign and his first year in office fumbling many questions about the Bible or religion.

Elizabeth Warren: Republicans aren't willing to do anything meaningful in terms of gun legislation

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) told Raw Story about the hopelessness in dealing with legislation that could help stem mass shootings in the United States.

Nearly 75 percent of natural gas from the US has been sold to Europe: report

Republicans have attacked President Joe Biden for blaming Russia for the high costs of oil and gas. The United States very rarely uses Russian oil and gas. But oil and gas are global commodities in a global market. So, when Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm explained that the war was to blame for high prices, she walked through how the U.S. is now competing with other countries in buying oil and gas.

As Bloomberg News reported, Granholm was spot on with where oil and gas are going — and it isn't staying at home. Nearly 75 percent of natural gas produced in the United States is being sold to Europe. Many countries in Europe have higher prices for gas than the U.S., particularly in countries like Norway and Denmark.

Trump is now under investigation for foreign gifts that weren't reported or disappeared

The National Archives has already been forced to go to Mar-a-Lago to find all of the papers that former President Donald Trump took from the White House. There are still documents missing, according to a Feb. 2022 report. In April, it was revealed that Trump officials failed to provide details or track any foreign gifts given to the president. It's now something that the House Oversight and Reform Committee is investigating, CNN reported.

When a president accepts a gift from a foreign country it is tracked and reported and ultimately belongs to the United States, not to the individual. The reason is to maintain transparency and ensure that no country could buy off a president or top US official. Trump's White House apparently didn't work that way.
