MSNBC's Joe Scarborough blasted Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and other Republicans for pushing Donald Trump's election lies to undermine the will of voters.

The "Morning Joe" host said no credible evidence of fraud has emerged, but Republican legislatures are setting up a process to throw out the results of future elections if they don't like what voters choose.

Writing in the Washington Post this Tuesday, Phillip Bump mentioned Donald Trump's tendency to turn on former allies and friends once he perceives them to be gaining a leg up on him. According to Bump, the same fate awaits Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and momentum and speculation around his potential 2024 run continues to heat up.

"The point, though, is simple: Nothing frustrates Trump more obviously and viscerally than coming in second. Which is not great news for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis," Bump writes.

The headline takeaway from the annual Western Conservative Summit was that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis polled slightly higher than Donald Trump at the annual conference of right-wing activists.

But the annual summit, launched in 2010 as part of the Tea Party movement, also provided a glimpse into what the attendees believe are the important issues of 2021 -- and what aren't. The same poll that had DeSantis and Trump receiving 74 and 71 percent, respectively, in an approval-voting question of survey attendees in Denver on the importance of 24 issues.

Donald Trump still hasn't decided whether he'll run again in 2024, but if he does, one conservative believes the ex-president could face a primary challenge from two allies.

The "Morning Joe" host opened the segment by archly hyping the news that Gov. Ron DeSantis had narrowly beaten Trump in a recent conservative straw poll, seemingly intended to infuriate the ex-president, if he was watching.

The idea that the Republicans are the party of the working class is now conventional wisdom among some members of the Washington press corps. That has bothered me for a variety of reasons, but I don't recall reporting the following annoyance. If the Republicans are the party of the working class, what does that mean in terms of class? We don't know, because most of the press corps does not bother asking the question.

Instead, we are left to read between and among the lines. The working class is drawn to the Republicans on account of the Republicans standing against things and people and ideas that the working class stands against. Those "things and people and ideas" have a certain color and a certain gender such that the Republicans are the party of the working class less in terms of class and more in terms of bigotry and prejudice. We are not talking about a working class so much as a whites-only working class. This is what lurks between and among the lines but the press corps never comes out and says it.

Former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows tamped down rumors of a Ron DeSantis presidential run after the Florida governor beat Donald Trump in a straw poll.

DeSantis narrowly edged out Trump, 75-72, in a 2024 straw poll conducted over the weekend at the Western Conservative Summit, but Meadows insisted to Yahoo News that the governor wouldn't challenge his former boss.

A right-wing conference over the weekend proved that conservatives are still furious about Vice President Mike Pence not delivering the 2020 election to Donald Trump. But at the same time, they're also not ready to ordain Trump as their 2024 nominee.

During the Western Conservative Summit, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis won the straw poll, besting former President Trump. While Trump was fine with DeSantis before, former GOP chairman Michael Steele predicted that it isn't going to be long before Trump lashes out.

The governor of Florida should open an independent investigation into the January 6th insurrection.

Reporting from the Faith & Freedom Coalition's annual Road to Majority conference being held in Orlando, Florida this weekend, the Guardian's David Smith spoke with Christian conservatives who still believe the 2020 presidential election results will be miraculously overturned and Donald Trump will once again ascend to the Oval Office.

The annual conference has so far been notable for former Vice President Mike Pence being heckled by attendees for being a "traitor" and not helping Trump stay in office, which Smith highlighted as an example that the ex-president still has many enraptured followers.

The Florida official in charge of regulating nonprofits in the state has filed an administrative complaint against an organization run by controversial "Big Lie" lawyer Sidney Powell.

"Florida Democratic Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried said Friday she is going after a charity run by Sidney Powell, a former attorney for former President Donald Trump who amplified conspiracy theories in the wake of the 2020 election cycle," Politico reported Friday. "Fried's office alleges that the Powell-run charity, known as Defending the Democracy, did not properly register with the state and has been deceptively soliciting donations on its website, which lists a West Palm Beach address."
