Lauren Boebert's request for 'favorite Bible verses' did not go well -- at all

Taking a break from her usual trolling of Democrats on Twitter, Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) made a request from her followers to share their favorite verses from the Bible and -- as you can probably guess -- she was flooded with comments calling her out for her own transgressions while being urged to live the teaching of Jesus for a change.

After a simple "What's your favorite Bible verse?" ask, the gun-toting conservative lawmaker was deluged with an assortment of critical comments and creative non-Biblical responses.

‘Pathetic’ Fox News hit with a wave of ridicule after pinning Chick-fil-A sauce shortage on Biden

On Wednesday, Fox News published an article purporting to link a shortage of Chick-fil-A's signature sauce on "Joe Biden's America." The evidence? A number of tongue-in-cheek remarks by politicians on Twitter.

"Following multiple reports of the popular fast food restaurant limiting how many Chick-fil-A sauce packets each customer is allowed, social media users took to Twitter to express their outrage – not at the restaurant – but at President Joe Biden," noted the article, quoting facetious remarks by Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), and Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CA).

Meet the far-right Pennsylvania Republican who believes that God was behind Trump’s attempted coup

If the Keystone State has an equivalent of U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, former Washington Rep. Matt Shea or U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert of Colorado, it is arguably Pennsylvania State Rep. Doug Mastriano — a far-right Republican, evangelical Christian fundamentalist, conspiracy theorist and devotee of former President Donald Trump who relentlessly promoted Trump's false claims of widespread voter fraud in the 2020 election. Mastriano's extremism and its connection to Christian nationalism is the focus of an article written by The New Yorker's Eliza Griswold and published on May 9.

"In the past year," Griswold explains, "he has led rallies against mask mandates and other public-health protocols, which he has characterized as 'the governor's autocratic control over our lives.' He has become a leader of the Stop the Steal campaign, and claims that he spoke to Donald Trump at least 15 times between the 2020 election and the insurrection at the Capitol on January 6. He urged his followers to attend the rally at the Capitol that led to the riots, saying, 'I'm really praying that God will pour His Spirit upon Washington, D.C. like we've never seen before.' Throughout this time, he has cast the fight against both lockdowns and Trump's electoral loss as a religious battle against the forces of evil."

Jimmy Kimmel mocks Trump's claim that his blog is a 'place to speak freely' — since people can't even comment on it

Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel cracked up over former President Donald Trump's new "social media platform" that he's been promising since being kicked off of Facebook and Twitter. Trump, who launched Tuesday, revealed his "free speech platform" that is nothing more than a blog where people can't even comment or reply.

Kimmel began by talking about Facebook's board deciding to punt back to Facebook whether Trump should continue to be banned from their website for organizing an insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on their platform. Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) posted a tweet attacking the platform, closing it with "mark my words!" She then deleted the tweet moments later.

Mama Grizzlies: Prominent women in the white power movement have long played protectors

With the political ascent of Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Rep. Lauren Boebert, two of the new members of Congress most closely aligned with QAnon and who most loudly amplified Donald Trump's false claim that the election was stolen, women have become the new face of the far right in national politics.

Greene (R-Ga.) and Boebert (R-Colo.) were both listed as "invited speakers and featured guests" at the Stop the Steal rally headlined by then-President Trump on Jan. 6, and voted against certifying the electoral vote for Joe Biden.
