'Unmistakable' signs Georgia grand jury believes it saw 'serious wrongdoing': CNN legal analyst

According to one of CNN's legal analysts, blunt comments made by members of the special grand jury in Georgia that looked into accusations of election interference by Donald Trump and close associates in 2020 will likely put pressure on Fulton County DA Fani Willis to issue criminal indictments.

In the five-page excerpt of the grand jury's findings that was released on Thursday, they wrote, "A majority of the grand jury believes that perjury may have been committed by one or more witnesses testifying before it. The grand jury recommends that the district attorney seek appropriate indictments for such crimes where the evidence is compelling.”

Ex-GOP strategist rips 'phony MAGA flip-flopper' Nikki Haley in scathing video

Nikki Haley supporters have been touting her as a voice of old-school conservative reason in the 2024 GOP presidential primary and a logical alternative to former President Donald Trump (who announced his campaign after the 2022 midterms) and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (who hasn’t made any type of formal announcement but appears likely to be running). However, Never Trump conservative Tim Miller, in a humorous yet scathing video for The Bulwark, expresses a very different view of the ex-South Carolina governor and former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.

Miller, a former GOP strategist and frequent guest on MSNBC, expressed his total disdain for the MAGA movement by leaving the Republican Party. In his video, Miller is highly critical of his former party’s 2024 presidential field, from Haley to DeSantis. And he argues that it is a contradiction for someone as "MAGA" as Haley to paint herself as a voice of moderation.

Strategist shreds Ron DeSantis for 'terrorizing' Florida families

Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) is "terrorizing families" with an agenda that is effectively just a different form of socialism, argued Democratic strategist Maria Cardona on Wednesday's edition of CNN's "The Lead."

This comes as DeSantis, who has passed a series of laws trying to stifle what he calls "woke" ideology in public schools, is declaring war on the College Board over what he claims is an overly activist agenda in Advanced Placement courses, and installs an ally at a liberal arts college to try to push right-wing thought on campus — and as he continues to fuel speculation about a presidential run that would challenge his former ally Donald Trump in 2024.

The Rev. Al Sharpton leads Tallahassee protest against Gov. DeSantis’ policies on race

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — In the shadow of the building where Gov. Ron DeSantis built a resume as a national politician, hundreds of mostly Black protesters led by the Rev. Al Sharpton on Wednesday made the case that a litany of the governor’s policies are an affront to the progress they have made over the past five decades. DeSantis, who is seen as a likely Republican presidential candidate in 2024, was portrayed as a national threat by civil rights leaders and Black Democratic state lawmakers who were at the rally. “What we are trying to do is make sure that Florida doesn’t set a national standard...

DeSantis accused of distracting voters from the 'festering problems in Florida' in scathing editorial

The Editorial Board of the Miami Herald issued a scathing piece Wednesday accusing Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) of adopting a Donald Trump tactic to manipulate the public's attention away from real problems Floridians suffer under.

The Board explained that for the past year, Florida has been dealing with a lot of problems, outrageously high insurance costs, natural disaster screw-ups, home and rental prices, and the refusal to expand Medicaid. All of the key issues Floridians desperately need help with are dying on the altar of DeSantis' anti-woke agenda.

Nikki Haley making same mistake that doomed non-Trump 2016 candidates: reporter

Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley is the first Republican who has stepped in to challenge former President Donald Trump for the 2024 presidential nomination.

However, Semafor reporter Benjy Sarlin thinks that Haley might already be making the same kinds of mistakes that doomed non-Trump candidates in 2016, as she is not being explicit enough in her reasons for wanting to challenge Trump for the nomination.
