Longtime Donald Trump fixer Michael Cohen explained how the scandals dogging Rudy Giuliani and Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) could be colliding during a Friday appearance on MSNBC's "Deadline: White House" with Nicolle Wallace.

"I want to ask you about the investigation that we now know more about than ever before into Rudy Giuliani," Wallace said. "He's taking a really brazen approach the day after a raid into his home and offices. You've had your home and offices raided and in your view, which with what you experienced and what you know about what Trump's willing to do to put his neck out for anyone, what should Rudy be doing?"

"Yeah, first of all, if I can, I wanted to go back and talk to you for a second about the previous block that you had on and I want to be very clear to and to your audience about this," Cohen said. "One of the things that you're talking about is Marie Yovanovitch and Ukraine. That is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of what they're looking for when it comes to Rudy Giuliani, Donald Trump, and so on."

Wehle explains, "FBI agents executed a search warrant at Giuliani's home and office on Wednesday, seizing material that included phones and computers, and at the Washington, D.C.-area home of lawyer Victoria Toensing. Toensing is a former federal prosecutor and Giuliani affiliate who, along with her husband Joseph diGenova, was reportedly involved in collecting information about Joe Biden's activities in Ukraine from back when he served as vice president."

Attorney Danield Goldman, who served as majority counsel during Donald Trump's first impeachment hearing, fact-checked a Rudy Giuliani claim on Fox News.

Since the Federal Bureau of Investigation served a search warrant on the former mayor, part of Giuliani's defense can be summed up as, "but what about Hunter Biden."

On Thursday, faced with an explosion of coverage of the federal investigation into his business dealings in Ukraine, Rudy Giuliani took to Twitter to claim that the search warrant against him was approved by former President Donald Trump's Attorney General William Barr — during the impeachment proceedings.

"The DOJ in late 2019 covertly obtained access to my iCloud and never notified me," said Giuliani. "They invaded the attorney client relationship as we were defending against the phony impeachment. These prosecutors violated the laws, not me. If again, nothing is done, you could be next."

UPDATE: The Washington Post has retracted claims that the FBI warned Rudy Giuliani that he was the target of a Russian disinformation campaign.

"An earlier version of this story, published Thursday, incorrectly reported that One America News was warned by the FBI that it was the target of a Russian influence operation," the publication wrote. "That version also said the FBI had provided a similar warning to Rudolph W. Giuliani, which he has since disputed. This version has been corrected to remove assertions that OAN and Giuliani received the warnings."

On CNN Thursday, New York Times Pulitizer Prize-winning reporter Maggie Haberman said that people close to former President Donald Trump are fearful of where the federal probe into Rudy Giuliani will go.

"[Trump's] other former attorney, Michael Cohen, was on CNN saying he told Giuliani that the former president doesn't care about anyone or anything and that he would be, quote, the next one to be thrown under the bus," said anchor Anderson Cooper. "Do you believe there is any scenario in which Giuliani would cooperate against the former president?"

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani pushed "whataboutism" on Fox News one day after the FBI executed a search warrant.

Giuliani repeatedly attempted to argue that people shouldn't pay attention to his legal woes and should instead focus on Hunter Biden.

On CNN Thursday evening, Rudy Giuliani's son Andrew went on "Erin Burnett OutFront" to defend his father and slam the federal investigation into his Ukraine work as a political hit job — only to crash and burn spectacularly on national television.

"The thing is, though, to get the warrant, it takes a lot," said Burnett.
