Former Trump strategist fears having Marjorie Taylor Greene on Homeland Security will endanger Americans

Among the lawmakers named to key congressional committees this week was Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), who got a plum spot on the Homeland Security Committee. It was something that led to frustration from those disturbed by Greene's years of conspiracy theories around the Sept. 11 attacks.

The women of "The View" started the show with their frustration over the appointment to the committee, more than the appointment of fib connoisseur and accused business fraudster Rep. George Santos (R-NY) to the small business committee.

Law enforcement isn't equipped to handle domestic terrorism around elections: former counter-intel officer

Frank Figliuzzi, the former FBI official that helped lead the counter-intelligence office, warned that the local law enforcement dealing with the new domestic terrorism threats against lawmakers and local officials are woefully ill-equipped to handle it. It isn't the first time that he has warned that the country isn't handling domestic terrorism as it should be.

Tuesday he echoed previous sentiments that there isn't currently a domestic terrorism statute on the books.

Michael Cohen met with prosecutors — here's what he wanted to tell them

If there's one thing Michael Cohen has done since abandoning what he calls the "cult" of Donald Trump, it's to avail himself to any and all law enforcement interested in questions about what he knows regarding any possible illegal behavior.

On Tuesday, Cohen finally met with the office of the Manhattan D.A., which comes after DA Alvin Bragg had decided not to investigate Trump personally when he came into office, despite protest resignations by top prosecutors in the office.

Republicans have no idea where to put George Santos

Investigation requests have already been submitted to the House Ethics Committee for newly elected Rep. George Santos (R-NY), and it's making the Republican leadership question what committee to put him on as a holding place.

GOP lawmakers told CNN's Manu Raju on Tuesday that Santos would get a committee assignment because the "concern among Republicans is that if they deny George Santos committees now, it’d set a precedent for other members who are facing intense scrutiny from the press but have not been charged with a crime."

Marjorie Taylor Greene scores prime spot on Homeland Security Committee despite 9/11 conspiracy theories

After being booted from her committee assignments by a majority of House Democrats and Republicans, in the new Congress, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) will sit on the prime Homeland Security Committee.

Greene has been accused of helping to organize and support the Jan. 6 insurrection and attack on the U.S. Congress in 2021. Her participation was part of a hearing where Georgians attempted to have her removed from the ballot using the 14th Amendment saying that no one who participated in an insurrection could hold elected office. Since Greene hasn't been convicted of attempting to overthrow the government, it has made it more difficult for critics to accuse her of being an insurrectionist, even if she supported the cause.

Legal experts have questions after Trump proclaims he has 'info on everyone' who came to Mar-a-Lago

Reports spread on Monday afternoon that the White House doesn't keep visitor logs for the private homes of presidents like President Joe Biden. The same is true for former Presidents George W. Bush, Bill Clinton and all of those that came before them. The one discrepancy, however, appears to be the revelation from former President Donald Trump that he has those logs.

Politico confirmed that there are no Secret Service logs of visitors to Mar-a-ago, despite Trump calling it "The Winter White House."

Watch: Jamie Raskin draws a direct line between Jan. 6 and accused New Mexico MAGA shooter

Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) said Donald Trump's use of far-right supporters to promote fear among Democrats and non-MAGA Republicans could be linked to Solomon Pena, a 2022 Republican candidate for the New Mexico state House who's accused of shooting attacks on six Democratic lawmakers.

Speaking to MSNBC's Rachel Maddow on Monday, Raskin explained that the Jan. 6 committee warned that this type of "dangerous extremism" being "embraced as part of the political system" would persist if action wasn't taken.
