The View's Sunny Hostin: Why are parents terrified of critical race theory silent 'when kids are being gunned down?'

"The View" co-hosts began their Wednesday show with a super-cut of Republican claims that the causes of mass shootings have nothing to do with guns.

According to the clips of GOP officials and Fox hosts, mass shootings have to do with a lack of prayer in schools, critical race theory, cross-dressing, so-called "wokeness," and cannabis.

'This is some BS - I'm sick of seeing kids die': Whoopi Goldberg says she wants your AR-15s

A discussion about the AR-15 on "The View" resulted in all of the co-hosts agreeing that automatic rifles and other weapons of war must be banned in the United States.

The conversation was part of the ongoing debate over how to stop mass shootings in the United States, or at the very least, limit the death rate. There are only nine states with so-called "red flag" laws, which allow law enforcement to remove weapons from those exhibiting unsafe behaviors. Limiting the death rate, meanwhile, would mean stopping high-power, rapid-fire weapons, which the National Rifle Association has claimed Americans need.

Former Trump aide bursts out laughing after hearing Madison Cawthorn praise former president's 'loyalty'

After losing the Republican Primary in North Carolina, Rep. Madison Cawthorn gave a speech in a small room of supporters before the race was called. He told the room that the one thing that became clear to him is that former President Donald Trump was a very loyal man to his allies.

"The thing I love about President Trump is that when you get your back pushed up against the wall I found that most people in politics if it's not politically expedient for them they'll turn their back on you in a heartbeat. But no matter what you are facing, when Donald Trump has your back, he has your back to the end," said Cawthorn.

The View's Sunny Hostin calls BS when Mike Pence aide claims he’s 'coming around' to LGBT people

"The View" discussed the recent comments by former Vice President Mike Pence that he would say "I love you," if his son came out as gay. According to former Pence staffer Alyssa Farrah, she thinks he "is coming around" when it comes to LGBTQ rights.

"I advised a number of Republicans, and one issue that I have -- or two issues I've told them across the board, you will lose the younger generation if you do not come around on marriage equality and climate change," said Farrah. "The country's mind is made up. I'm someone who believes you can believe what you want in your church. I'm Episcopalian. I have certain beliefs in my church, but it is the law of the land you can marry who you love, and it's a good thing. And I see a little bit — I watch that clip and I think Mike Pence might be coming around a little bit."

'She's an idiot!' View hosts don’t hold back after Stephanie Grisham says conservatives hate being called dumb

The co-hosts of "The View" brought Stephanie Grisham back to sit in during hot topics this week, but sparks started flying when she talked about how angry the right-wing gets when they're shown to be "dumb."

The conversation was about how the right has started using the word "pedophile" to insult anyone they don't like. Before, the right would scream "socialist," but the new accusation is that Democrats are enabling abusers. Such was the case when Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) attacked Sens. Susan Collins (R-ME), Mitt Romney (R-UT) and Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) by claiming that they intended to vote to approve Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson. The conversation then evolved into illogical things Donald Trump's supporters say on camera.

Whoopi Goldberg goes off on Lindsey Graham for turning on Judge Jackson: 'You should be ashamed of yourself'

The women of "The View" began the show Wednesday attacking Republicans for their attacks on Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson during the first day of questions during the hearings.

Co-host Whoopi Goldberg began by saying "Lindsey Graham, you should be ashamed of yourself. None of this came up the last three times. The last three times this woman came before you. You were fine with her. Suddenly now you don't know what you are doing. The last time you voted for her, now you're walking. Republicans were this worried about sex crimes and their egregiousness, they didn't want to hear about sex crimes when [Justice Brett] Kavanaugh was being nominated. So, I'm just -- just, and that's all -- and she has not been accused of a sex crime, okay? I'm just saying that."
